Escape Chutes MAS-67 Escape Chute MES System

RSS are a Houston based safety company who manufacture and supply a comprehensive range of on/offshore escape chute MES systems. In 2005 RSS developed an extensive range of fully integrated escape chute systems for fixed and variable height applications and to date have over 200 MES systems operational offshore globally for all major owner, operators. RSS are constantly developing new systems and utilizing new technologies designed to enhance safety of life at sea.

In 2014 RSS designed and type approved the MAS-67 containerized MES system. The MAS-67 is game changer in offshore chute technology as it does away with the inflatable boarding raft that sits below the chute, the MAS-67 utilizes a purpose built podium that integrates with a Survitec/Zodiac high capacity 50/100 or 150 person A pack SOLAS approved life raft. The MAS-67 is ready for evacuation in around 60 seconds making it the fastest MES system available on the market.

Conventional MES system rely on a boarding raft that is inflated at sea level and the main rafts are floating in there GRP containers awaiting the first evacuees to have to descend the chute column pull in the rafts and inflate them before the evacuation can commence, with the MAS-67 the moment the system reaches the water the main raft inflates and the system is ready within 60 seconds as evacuees descend the chute step onto the floating podium the directly enter the main raft, no cross boarding is required under heavy wave conditions.
