Escape Chutes BPC-66 Winched offshore chute system ME

RSS are a Houston based safety company who manufacture and supply a comprehensive range of on/offshore escape chute MES systems. In 2005 RSS developed an extensive range of fully integrated escape chute systems for fixed and variable height applications and to date have over 200 MES systems operational offshore globally for all major owner, operators. RSS are constantly developing new systems and utilizing new technologies designed to enhance safety of life at sea.

RSS offer our BPC-66 containerized MES system. The BPC-66 is ideal for high capacity use such as large POB requirements for accommodation vessels. This system uses the conventional 30 person self inflating boarding rafts and can integrate with up to 4 x 50 man rafts two stored per side making the system with a 200 POB MES system. AS with all the RSS offshore MES system they utilize the Survitec/Zodiac range of A pack SOLAS approved life rafts. The BPC-66 is a winched system that uses a gravity braked winch for deployment and an electric motor for recovery after the emergency event.

The system is deployed using the gravity controlled winch and as the main stabilization plate reaches the water the main 50 man rafts roll off still in there GRP containers and the 30 person boarding rafts auto-inflates. The BPC-66 is a conventional MES system and the main rafts are floating in there GRP containers awaiting the first evacuees to descend the chute column pull in the rafts, inflate them and the evacuation commences.
