Escape Chutes IECS80 Winched Escape MES

RSS are a Houston based safety company who manufacture and supply a comprehensive range of on/offshore escape chute MES systems. In 2005 RSS developed an extensive range of fully integrated escape chute systems for fixed and variable height applications and to date have over 200 MES systems operational offshore globally for all major owner, operators. RSS are constantly developing new systems and utilizing new technologies designed to enhance safety of life at sea.

RSS offer our NEW ECS 80 Compact winched containerized MES system. The ECS-80 was designed initially for SpaceX for there new launch control tower and is also suitable for offshore applications offering a smaller containerized winched MES system suitable for applications where space is limited, can be mounted at the edge of the deck an cantilevered over the edge for deployment. The system utilizes the RSS 450 Kevlar Micro Netter Zig-Zag Chute, 30 person self inflating boarding raft and weight stabilization weight, the system uses a gravity braked winch for deployment and an electric motor for recovery after the emergency event and is suitable for POB’s up to 150 persons as standard but can be configured for a 200 POB.

This system uses the conventional 30 person self inflating boarding rafts and can integrate with up to Qty x 4 = 20, 25, 30, 36, 50 person rafts that are stored on the deck two each side of the MES system with there painter lines attached to the MES system internal boarding raft. As with all the RSS offshore MES system they utilize the Survitec/Zodiac range of A pack SOLAS approved life rafts and for deployment the main life rafts are thrown to sea first then the MES system deployed to sea level, the first evacuees descend the chute enter the boarding raft and pull in the main rafts, inflate them, tie them to the boarding raft and full evacuation can now commence.
